FAQ

What is the difference between the TR recorder and HR portable recorder?
The TR series is an economical temperature recorder focused on long-term fixed monitoring; the HR series is focused on portable mobile monitoring. TR supports more channels (up to 32), has larger storage, and supports audio/visual alarm output. HR is more compact and portable.
How many monitoring channels does the TR recorder support?
The TR series offers 4-channel, 8-channel, 16-channel, and 32-channel models. Each channel connects one digital temperature sensor. Choose the model based on your monitoring point count to avoid channel waste.
Can the TR recording interval be configured?
Yes. The recording interval is configurable from 1 minute to 120 minutes via included software, defaulting to 30 minutes.
What is the TR recorder battery life?
The TR recorder uses dry batteries or a 6V rechargeable battery. Dry battery mode lasts ~30 days (10-minute intervals); rechargeable battery ~60 days. External USB power or 220V adapter for long-term use is also supported.
How many data records can the TR recorder store?
The TR recorder is equipped with large-capacity EEPROM storage and supports TF card expansion for flexible and reliable data storage:

Built-in Storage Strategy:
High-density mode (32 channels): Sampling at 30-minute intervals, stores up to 910 data sets — approximately 18 days of continuous recording.
Long-cycle mode (8 channels): Sampling at 30-minute intervals, stores up to 2,970 data sets — approximately 61 days of continuous recording.

Overwrite Mechanism: Supports customizable storage strategies — automatic overwrite of oldest data (circular mode) or immediate stop (non-circular mode) when full, preventing critical data loss.

Massive Expansion & Export: With a TF card inserted, storage capacity is greatly expanded for mass data storage. Supports high-speed export of historical data via TF card, Bluetooth, and USB interfaces for offline analysis and archiving.
Does the TR recorder support alarm output?
No. The TR recorder only provides timed data acquisition, recording, and transfer functions. However, it does alert on low battery.
What features does the TR recorder software offer?
The included software provides: ① Device configuration (clock calibration, channels, intervals, start time, memory clearing); ② Data reading and Excel export; ③ Temperature curve plotting; ④ Data analysis and statistics; ⑤ Monitoring report generation. Free, supports Windows.
Can the TR recorder connect to a PC for real-time monitoring?
Yes. When connected to a PC via USB, the software displays real-time channel temperatures and plots live curves. Suitable for laboratory or office fixed-location use. Requires the PC to remain running.
How is the TR recorder installed?
The TR recorder is wall-mounted, approximately 160×120×40mm. Can be fixed to walls or in electrical boxes. Sensor cables enter from the bottom with pluggable terminals for easy installation and maintenance.
What sensor types does the TR recorder support?
The TR recorder uses HYT-ADSXX high-precision temperature sensors by default, with ±0.2°C accuracy (@25°C). Measurement range: -55~153°C. Sensor cables are heat-resistant (up to 120°C), durable, and internally rectified — no polarity distinction needed. Custom cable lengths from 0.5m to 20m in 0.25m increments are available, with support for self-extension up to <250m. Multiple sensor types are supported — please contact customer service.
What is the IP rating of the TR recorder?
Environmental Adaptability & Protection:
The TR recorder enclosure is rated IP54, providing dust and splash-water protection — effectively resisting common construction-site dust and rain spray. Given its protection limitations, installation in a protective enclosure is recommended, and prolonged direct rain exposure should be avoided to extend device lifespan.

Wide-Temperature Design & Power Constraints:
The device supports a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C. Note that these limits are primarily constrained by the chemical characteristics of dry-cell batteries.
